Whether you are preparing a big holiday sale or promoting a new product with a price reduction for a limited time, learning how to set up Limited-Time Offers in NATS will help you improve your business.
Timed Discounts can be applied to your sites using specific Join Option Rules.
Creating a Join Option for Your Site
To provide limited-time offers to your site visitors, you will need to create a discounted join option for them to join under. To do this, navigate to the Sites Admin, select the site you wish to modify, and select the Join Options Tab. Click the "Add Site Option" to begin creating your Join Option.

Establishing the Timeframe
Once a Join Option has been created, you'll need to specify how this Join Option behaves. This is done using the Join Option's Rules settings. These rules control various functions of the join option such as when to display the join option, which site to display it on, and for which affiliates, and many more options.
Using the Rules system, you can set a "Start Time" and "End Time" specifying when the Join Option with the discounted offer begins to take effect and when it ends. Should this date be sometime in the future, NATS will activate the rule and make the join option available at the set time. NATS will then disable the option rule once the end time is reached.
How to Create a Join Option Rule
1) To create a Rule for your Join Option, select a Join Option then navigate to the Rules tab.
2) Select the "Add New" option to create a new rule.

3) Click the "Start Time" field and select the date you wish the limited-time offer to commence.
4) Click the "End Time" field and select the date you wish the limited-time offer to end.
5) Optional: Select the Tours, programs, affiliates, countries and/or billers this limited-time offer will be enabled for.

The rule will now be displayed with a status of "Future" indicating that it will take effect sometime in the future at the specified date and time.

Hiding your existing Join Option
Now that you have a Join Option with a Limited-Time Offer, you'll want to create a new Rule on your existing Join Option. This is accomplished by adding a new "HIDE" rule that hides it until the date the discounted offer ends.
1) Navigate to your existing Join Option
2) Select the "Rules" tab
3) Select the "Add New" button

4) Select the "HIDE" option from the Change Type drop-down.

5) Select the "Start Time" and "End Time" to coincide with the start time and end time of the Limited-Time Offer
6) Select the "Add Rule" button to finalize your changes.

Your existing Join Option will now be hidden for the duration of the Limited-Time Offer created earlier.
A Quick Recap
Following the above example, we've managed to accomplish the following:
We created a Join Option titled "Black Friday Sale" which will display on our site named"Example Site A" with the Change Type set to "SHOW" so it will be displayed.
The Start Time is set for November 28th, 2024 and the End Time is set for December 1st, 2024.
Since there is nothing specified in the Rule Target, the Join Option will display on your site for every tour, program, affiliate, country, and biller associated with that site.
We created a "HIDE" Rule for our existing Join Option to hide it for the duration of the Limited-Time Offer.
