The NATS email function allows clients to have complete control over any automated emails that are sent out to members, affiliates, owners, account reps, and site partners by NATS.
This works in conjunction with the Mailing Admin since all outgoing emails in NATS are required to go through a queue in the mailing admin before they are sent out.
Through the NATS email function, you will be able to control features such as what address the mail is sent from, what address to respond to, the method through which it is sent, when the email is sent, the subject of the email, and what actions triggered the sending of the email.
General Settings
From the Emails Configuration section, you can edit custom settings for automated emails to members, affiliates, program owners, account representatives, and site partners. General Settings allows you to set basic options on outgoing emails from NATS.
Mail Single Line Endings - Setting
Mail Queue Processing Time - This designates how many minutes at a time the mail queue will run for.
Mail Queue Wait Seconds - This sets how many seconds the Mailing Admin should wait between checking new mails.
Mail Queue Buffer Micro Seconds - This sets how many microseconds the Mass Mailing Admin should wait between sending emails.
HTML Only Warning - This allows you to set an automated plain text message when an email is HTML only.
The next set of fields under General Settings allows you to configure what email addresses the emails are sent from, as well as sending methods and security options.
Email From Default - Designates a default email address from which to send emails from.
Email From Nice Default - This field specifies the name displayed next to the email address.
Email Reply Default - Designates a default email address to reply to emails to.
Email Reply Nice Default - This field specifies the name displayed next to the reply-to address.
Email Send Method Default - Use the drop-down menu to choose between emails being sent from the default PHP method and the Custom SMTP method.
SMTP is generally recommended over PHP Mail for mass emails, as SMTP tends to be quicker and bogs down a server less than PHP Mail. This is because PHP Mail opens and closes an SMTP socket for each email, while SMTP acts as its own mail server. However, the SMTP option requires that you have an SMTP server to use as we do not provide SMTP servers. You will need your own to use our custom SMTP email option.
Email Smtp Server Default - Sets the default server to be used for SMTP emails.
Email Smtp Port Default - Sets the default port to be used for SMTP emails.
Email Smtp Username Default - Sets the default username to log in for SMTP emails.
Email Smtp Password Default - Sets the default password to log in for SMTP emails.
Email Smtp Secure Default - Sets the optional secure connection method.
Email Bcc To Default - Sets the default BBC address for emails.
Email Custom Headers - Sets a custom header for your emails by separating each custom header with a new line.
Email Enable Verp Header - Enable a custom VERP header to be added to your emails.
Email Default Verp Address - Sets the default VERP address for bounced emails.
Enable Conversion Email - Enable emails to be sent on membership conversion as a separate email.
Test Member Mailing - Comma-delimited list of Member IDs to send test mailings. You can leave this option empty to disable it.
Email Valid Check Default - Set the type of email verification function to run.
Disable Affiliate Email On Member Manual Add - Set whether to skip sending member-joined emails to affiliates when a manual add occurs.
Sending to Settings
All fields for the Sending To Settings will be the same for members, affiliates, owners, etc. The description of these fields is the same as those for the general settings, except that these settings can be individually designated for the following categories:
Members
Members via the Mass Mailing Admin
Affiliates
Affiliates via the Mass Mailing Admin
Owners
Account Representatives
Site Partners
This gives you more flexibility in creating different settings for emails sent to different types of people associated with your site.
E-mail Affiliate Subjects
The NATS Mailing Function allows you to set the subject of any automatically generated email through the Email section of the Configuration Admin.
Important: Leaving the fields blank will not send the email.
The following three choices are universal across the Mailing Functions:
No Emails/Not Set - Emails will not be sent for this particular topic when this choice is selected.
Always Email -Emails will always be sent for this particular topic when this choice is selected.
Affiliates Choice - Affiliates will be able to select whether or not they receive emails on this topic.
NATS allows you to designate only certain emails to be sent to affiliates automatically, such as when a member initiates a cancellation or a chargeback.
Email Affiliate Signup - Sets the email sent to affiliates when they sign up.
Affiliate Email On Member Joined - Sets the option for allowing the email sent to affiliates when a member joins.
Email Affiliate On Member Joined Subject - The email subject that is sent to the affiliate when a member joins.
Affiliate Email On Member Pre-Joined - Set whether to allow the email sent to the affiliate when the member pre-joins.
Email Affiliate On Member Pre-Joined Subject - Set the subject to send to the affiliate when a member pre-joins.
Affiliate Email On Member Pending Joined - Set the option to send affiliates member pending joins.
Email Affiliate On Member Pending Joined Subject - The subject of the email sent to affiliates when a member pending joins.
Affiliate Email On Member Pending Ncr - Set whether to send emails to affiliates when a member has a pending no-cost registration.

In addition to this, there are categories to set affiliate email subjects using Smarty scripts in order to automatically designate what project or website the email is sent from. These fields only affect the subject line of an email. To change the body text of automated emails, you must edit the email templates under the Skins & Templates Admin.
E-mail Owner Subjects
Email Owner Subjects allows you to set specific email subjects based on certain member and affiliate actions, such as when a member joins or cancels, or when an affiliate signs up. When these conditions are triggered, an email will be automatically sent to the site owner based on these settings. By using these fields you can create email topics for specific events and conditions.
These fields only affect the subject line of an email. To change the body text of automated emails, you must edit the email templates under the Skins & Templates Admin.
Important: If you leave these fields blank, no mail will be sent.
Email Owner Joined - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member joins.
Email Owner Nocostjoined - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member joins using a no-cost registration option.
Email Owner Pending Ncr - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member needs to verify their email for a no-cost registration option.
Email Owner Manualadd - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a manual member is added
Email Owner Pre-Joined - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member joins but the transaction is in the pre-state.
Email Owner Pending Joined - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member joins but the transaction is in the pending state.
Email Owner Rebilled - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member rebills.
Email Owner Pre-Rebilled - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member has a pre-state rebill.
Email Owner Pending Rebilled - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member has a pending rebill.
Email Owner Cancelled - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member cancels their subscription.
Email Owner Credited - Set the subject of the email sent to the program owner when a member's transaction is credited.

This section allows you to set what email address incoming mail from NATS will be sent to.
Email To Owner - Designates an email address for emails sent to the site owner.
