Overview

The Model List Block is used for displaying a list of Models in a structured and customizable layout. It showcases a series of Models in a visually organized way, with options for filtering, sorting, and pagination.

This block is perfect for displaying your most popular or most recently added Models, helping visitors explore and discover content by Model.

The Model List Block is often used together with the Model View Block to create a frictionless experience for visitors, taking them from viewing a list of Models to viewing the details of the individual Model they have selected.

Model List Settings

Below are a list of settings you can modify to configure the behavior of the block.

List Settings

In the List Settings tab, you'll find settings for filtering the Models that appear in the block.

Under the Data Source section, you can filter models by

  • The Specific Model ID.

  • The IDs of the Content Sets they appear in.

  • Values provided in the URL.

  • Channels

You can also define which Channels with Content that a Model has been associated with are displayed. Content Sets are published to Channels, and Content Sets can have Models associated with them, so selecting the Channel will limit which Models are displayed.

See the Channels article to learn more.

The Display Order field lets you control the order the Models are shown.

Under the Filter by Model Attributes section, you can filter Models by attributes like hair color or eye color. For example, you can enable filtering, then choose a specific hair color to only display Models with that attribute.

You can also filter Models by Set Metadata, which allows you to display Models that appear in sets tagged with specific metadata.

Design

The Design tab lets you customize how the block looks and behaves.

Under Header Text, you can set a custom title that appears above the model list and choose its alignment.

In the User Interaction section, you can define what happens when a visitor clicks a Model such as:

  • Using the default theme behavior.

  • Sending the visitor to a specific destination page.

  • Sending visitors to the signup page.

The Click Destination field lets you determine the page, within your theme, to send visitors to when a model is clicked.

Using the Model List and Model View Blocks Together

Now is a good time to further explain the relationship between the Model List and Model View blocks, since they work alongside one another. Once a visitor clicks a Model in the Model List block, the destination page set will receive the Model's ID or slug via the URL. The Model View Block on the destination page will use that ID or slug to display the relevant content.

The Result List and Thumbnails sections let you control how the models are displayed. You will be able to configure:

  • The number of thumbnails shown in the list

  • The size of the thumbnails

  • The number of thumbnails based on the screen size

Pagination settings include the following:

  • A link or button pagination (with or without page numbers in the URL)

  • Slider or carousel for scrolling through Models

You can also set a Click Destination when using query string pagination to set where visitors are directed to after clicking a pagination link.

Thumbnails Per Row lets you set the number of visible thumbnails based on screen size.

Details to Display gives you control of what information appears on each Model's card, letting you display ratings, favorites, scene count, scene count label and more to help visitors get some context of the model at a glance.
